I spearheaded the visual direction and graphic realization for Vilhelm & Femtogo's collaborative music project "LA BÊTE". Inspired by legendary tales, the visual direction revolves around the exploits of heroic figures such as Saint George and Sigurd as they battle a mythical beast.

In developing the visual identity, I opted for a minimalist aesthetic, deliberately choosing a palette of very soft tones with a hint of red. This was a strategic choice, as it allowed the key elements of the visuals to stand out. To enhance the impact of the work, I incorporated embossed paper textures, evoking a timeless quality reminiscent of ancient legends and historical frescoes. The use of bright red symbolizing the spilled blood of the beast, add an emotional and narrative dimension to the whole.
The iconography was deliberately kept simple, serving as a portal to transport the audience into the pages of an old book of legends. The aim was to encourage them to imagine the scenes as if they were discovering the tale in an ancient tome. In the process, I scanned any old books of fairy tales and legends I could find, combining and modifying elements to create a coherent visual language that resonated with the mythical tale depicted.
In addition to the visual elements, I handcrafted custom titling to enhance the project's appeal, using ink on paper for an authentic feel. Then, I meticulously revectorized it to maintain clarity while preserving its handmade essence.
The design direction aimed to strike a delicate balance between elegance and intensity, echoing the music's dramatic themes. Particular attention was paid to the clarity of the images, contrasting with the "darkness" of the sounds, to enrich the overall experience for listeners.
I also considered a physical vinyl edition for the project, where the embossing took on new significance. This tactile addition enhanced the immersive experience, underlining the attention to detail in creating a coherent universe. As a result, all the visual elements created acquired greater meaning and coherence in this format.
Through the meticulous elaboration of visual elements and attention to detail, I strive to transport listeners to the heart of mythic tales, enriching the overall narrative through aural and visual support. I'm honored to have been part of his journey.
